Author George Baird
The book is an anthology of George Baird’s writings spanning from 1969 to the present, reflecting his interest in planning and the built environment.
Baird taught architectural theory at the RCA and Architectural Association (AA) in London, before moving to Toronto to set up practice and teach at the University of Toronto and Harvard University.
Baird was the principle author of pioneering 1974 urban design study Onbuildingdowntown and has since authored many books, including Meaning in Architecture with Charles Jencks.
